GENERAL SUMMARY: Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from accredited program. Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from national accreditation board. Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for Registry certification. Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred. LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks. Daily interaction with family members and staff. Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary. Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families. Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary. Additional Information
