This is a UC San Diego Department-Only Internal Recruitment open to UC San Diego UNIVERSITY DEVELOPMENT (0401) Employees Only Reassignment Applicants: Eligible Reassignment clients should contact their Disability Counselor for assistance. Reporting the Associate Vice Chancellor of University Development (AVC-UD), the Senior Director of Development, Donor Strategy (SDOD-DS) plans and implements strategies for the identification, cultivation, successful solicitation, negotiation, stewardship and tracking of major and principal gifts ($100,000 to $1M+) as identified by UD and Advancement leadership. The SDOD-DS serves as a member of the UD leadership team. The SDOD-DS is responsible for managing a prospect/donor portfolio focused on key philanthropic initiatives. The SDOD-DS is responsible for managing highly complex and critical projects in partnership with the AVC-UD requiring collaboration across Advancement and campus. The SDOD-DS provides supervision and mentorship to the Donor Strategy team and provides guidance and partnership to UD and Leadership Strategy and Engagement (LSE) development officers to ensure coordinated principal and transformational gift strategies in alignment with UC, campus and Advancement policy. Special emphasis will be placed on principal and transformational gift strategies and activities managed through UD and LSE. The SDOD-DS works closely with the AVC-UD and AVC-LSE to lead fundraising strategies by assessing the overall philanthropic potential of key prospects and initiatives; creating comprehensive, long-term development strategies; building strong relationships and effectively working with leadership including the Chancellor, Associate Chancellor, Executive Vice Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Advancement, and other faculty leaders; and providing updates and information to the AVC-UD and AVC-LSE for approval and strategic guidance. The SDOD-DS will collaborate closely with colleagues across all Advancement units and various partners across the UC San Diego campus and will serve on additional committees and task forces as requested. Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $119,400 - $230,800 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $57.18 - $110.54 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
