About the Role

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Compliance team as a Market Conduct Compliance Consultant. This position requires strong knowledge of insurance compliance, regulatory examinations, and industry oversight practices. The role supports a wide range of Company initiatives related to market conduct examinations, regulatory data calls, and New York Regulation 60 oversight. Responsibilities include coordinating responses to regulators, assessing compliance risks and exposures, and developing actionable recommendations to strengthen enterprise-wide compliance. The position also contributes to the company's broader compliance strategy by collaborating with Monitoring, Suitability, Complaints, and Operations teams to align findings, share trends, and support continuous improvement efforts. Experience with life and annuity products is required; familiarity with complaint handling, industry criticism reporting, and producer oversight is preferred.

What you will do



  • Serves as lead Compliance representative for market conduct examinations, regulatory data calls, New York market conduct profile preparation, and New York Regulation 60 oversight, coordinating timely and accurate responses across departments and divisions.
  • Collaborates with Operations, Law, and business teams to ensure processes and documentation meet regulatory expectations and exam readiness standards.
  • Independently manages technically demanding market conduct and regulatory projects with minimal supervision. May supervise junior analysts on specific projects and serves as a point of contact with regulators on assigned matters.
  • Advises business management on compliance issues related to market conduct trends, complaints, and regulatory findings, and assists in developing or enhancing procedures to address identified risks.
  • Partners with Monitoring, Suitability, , and Operations teams to share insights, align on emerging themes, and ensure consistent application of corrective actions and best practices
  • Serves as the compliance liaison to the Operations Claims department and oversees the complaint management function.
  • Utilizes data analysis tools to track and evaluate complaint trends, inform reporting, support risk mitigation efforts, and ensure alignment between complaint operations and compliance requirements.
  • Provides training and mentorship for less experienced compliance team members and business partners involved in market conduct and complaint handling processes.
  • Performs regulatory research and tracks industry criticisms and enforcement trends to identify potential risk exposure and recommend proactive measures.
  • Prepares clear and effective written communications, memoranda, and presentations for senior management on exam activity, complaint trends, and regulatory developments.

Compensation

Salary Range:$85,400 - $142,300 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs

Who you are



  • College degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Typically 8-10+ years of compliance experience, with significant focus on market conduct examinations, data calls, regulatory inquiries, or Reg 60 oversight.
  • Strong understanding of the life and annuity insurance industry, including regulatory frameworks governing market conduct, producer oversight, and complaint management.
  • Prior experience interacting with regulators or preparing executive-level compliance summaries required.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and organizational skills, with the ability to synthesize complex regulatory findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Strategic and process-driven; ability to develop practical, scalable approaches to exam readiness, response coordination, and remediation tracking.
  • Ability to work effectively with Operations, Law, Monitoring, QA, and Complaints teams, as well as all levels of management, including senior leadership and external regulators.
  • Collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to partner across departments to align compliance efforts, ensure consistent messaging, and support enterprise-level initiatives.
  • Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint; familiarity with Power BI or other data analytics tools preferred.
  • Experience managing or participating in state Market Conduct Examinations or similar regulatory reviews.
  • Familiarity with the NAIC Market Regulation Handbook, Regulation 60, and state data call processes.
  • Exposure to complaint trend analysis, industry criticism reporting, or compliance dashboarding using data visualization tools.
