IT Specialist Senior

Leidos currently has an opening for an IT Specialist Senior to support execution of projects on the SMIT contract in New Orleans, LA. The IT Specialist Senior will manage VIP Support, for G6- Reserve Base Support (RBS). This can include overseeing operation of network systems, user devices, user architecture, and topology through deployment and oversight of network operations specialists. The qualified candidate will also perform asset scanning and logging of assets that have been delivered in accordance with established Government directives for both Lab and Production assets.

SMIT is the largest IT services program for the Navy. As a member of the Leidos team, you will assist in the deliveryof the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network.

Other duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform advanced systems installation, operation, integration, and troubleshooting in order to maintain optimum Information Technology (IT) system operations.

• Design and oversee upgrades and new installs of IT systems and services ensuring coordination with Cyber Security Specialist.

• Perform Tier III upgrades of networking systems, IT systems, and storage networking.

• Perform Tier III troubleshooting, optimization, and performance management of Internet Protocol (IP), Domain Name System (DNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and routing protocols.

• Integrate enterprise, regional, and local IT systems ensuring current network operations are sustained or oversee their recovery.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, MIS, business, or related field. Experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.

• Ten years of General IT experience

• Experience should include but is not limited to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), Enhanced Interior Gateway Routing Protocol (EIGRP), Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and Network Address Translation (NAT).

• Must possess Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification (ie. Security+ CE) and MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator

• US Citizen with an active DOD Secret clearance
