Description and Requirements

About the Role

We are seeking a highly strategic and operationally excellent Strategy & Operations Lead to partner directly with the IDG Product & Segment Marketing Leader. This person will drive operational rigor, support strategic planning, enhance cross-functional alignment across product and marketing teams, and accelerate execution on high-priority initiatives.

The ideal candidate thrives in a complex, matrixed environment; can switch seamlessly between high-level strategy and detailed execution; and acts as a force multiplier for a senior marketing leader overseeing multiple global workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Support for the IDG Product & Segment Marketing Leader

  • Serve as a trusted thought partner on strategy, organizational planning, and priority setting for the marketing segments.
  • Translate leadership vision into actionable plans, programs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive strategic initiatives across product marketing, segment marketing, competitive intelligence, and go-to-market alignment.

Operational Excellence & Business Management

  • Partner closely with the IDG WW Marketing Strategy & Operations organization to support the operational cadence for the segment marketing organization: QBRs, MBRs, etc.
  • Build systems and processes that improve visibility, efficiency, and accountability across the marketing segments.
  • Engage dashboards, insights, and reporting to support data-driven decision-making.

Program & Project Leadership

  • Support cross-functional projects that span marketing, product, sales, finance, and operations when needed.
  • Manage timelines, stakeholders, deliverables, and risk mitigation to ensure seamless execution.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline or optimize workflows across the organization.
  • Strengthen collaboration across product teams, segment marketing, regional teams, and GTM functions.
  • Foster operational discipline and a culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Communication & Executive Readiness

  • Prepare high-quality materials for executive leadership, including strategy briefs, business reviews, presentations, etc.
  • Support the leader in managing information flow, alignment, and follow-through across all stakeholder groups.
  • Act as a proxy in selected meetings, driving clarity and ensuring commitments are captured and advanced.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years in strategy, operations, product marketing operations, program management, management consulting, or relevant roles.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong understanding of marketing, product development, go-to-market processes, or segment/industry marketing.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience structuring complex decisions.
  • Proven ability to manage large, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills, including executive-ready writing and presentation development.
  • Track record of influencing without authority in a matrixed organization.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort operating in ambiguity with high autonomy.
