Inova Fairfax Medical Campus is looking for a dedicated Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 2 to join the EmPATH (Emergency Psychiatric Assessment Treatment and Healing) team. This role is Full-time day Shift: Mon-Friday + every other weekend 4 - 10's 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. We offer great pay based on experience! Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 2 - Job Responsibilities:



  • The Psychiatric Emergency Clinician 2 uses an integrated approach toward patient outcomes.
  • Provides psychiatric consults to assess and diagnose mental health and/or substance use disorders as well as providing risk assessments.
  • Integrates assessments using information to develop a recommendation for care.
  • May provide a range of brief therapeutic interventions including, group programming, individual crisis therapy, family support sessions and behavioral interventions to assist the patient in achieving the goals and objectives for stabilization.
  • Provides care coordination to ensure the patient and family receive and are referred to appropriate resources to optimize treatment outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • Education: Master's Degree, Ph.D., PsyD, or EdD in Mental Health, Social Work, Counseling, Substance Use Disorders or Behavioral Health-related field.
  • Experience: 2 years' experience working in the psychiatric or mental health field with the seriously mentally ill.
  • Certifications:

    • Basic Life Support required upon start
    • Vistelar certification required within 6 Months of hire

  • License in one of the following upon start:

    • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC),
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT),
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW),
    • Licensed Clinical Psychologist (LCP),
    • Licensed Substance Abuse Professional (LSATP).
