Position Description The Senior Scientific Associate will join the QIAGEN Germantown R&D Team in research and development of innovative products to support and strengthen the IVD immunoassay portfolio. The ideal candidate will have experience in conducting methodological experimental design and research. A strong background in immunology or molecular biology is critical. The Senior Scientific Associate will be working with a broad cross-functional team and will be required to both support and lead internal research activities. A good understanding of Product development process in IVD industry is beneficial. Responsibilities: - Conduct product development activities following QIAGEN global design control processes for IVD regulated products, from feasibility, analytical and clinical validation in product development up to lifecycle management for registered products under guidance of senior scientist or scientific expert. - Good understanding of Molecular biology and immunology. - Able to independently plan and conduct experimental design with scientific rigor and able to interpret data. - Able to integrate biological aspects with technology assay platforms either on existing QIAGEN platforms, including ELISA, PCR, or upcoming platforms. - Participate in meetings to support activities with cross-functional teams including Business Development, Marketing, R&D, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs and Operations. Position Requirements - Ph.D. degree in Immunology or Molecular Biology, or related field with 1-2 years post doc experience or MS with 3 years of research experience. - Experience with statistical software programs such as GraphPad Prism or JMP - Understanding of infectious disease biology and interaction with the host immune system is beneficial. - Experience with AI/ machine learning tools is beneficial - Ability to present to scientific, cross functional audience and customers Personal Requirements - Excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, time management and interpersonal skills - Strong background in data analysis - Capable to work in a collaborative team environment - Strong organizational skills, and solid communication skills including oral, written and presentation techniques. The estimated base salary range for this position is $58,000 - $100,000. Compensation will be based on the candidate's experience, skills, geographic location, and other job-related factors.
