Overview

Shift: Monday - Friday | 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Remote Position (will start in Cedar Rapids, IA location to start)

The Respiratory Customer Care Specialist ensures a smooth and positive experience for respiratory patients by coordinating their transition into our care. This role involves managing and tracking respiratory orders, anticipating patient needs, and collaborating with referring providers to secure accurate documentation for timely billing. The specialist also supports respiratory therapists by troubleshooting equipment issues over the phone, scheduling appointments, and helping patients stay compliant with their therapy-delivering exceptional service that promotes comfort, confidence, and better health outcomes.

Responsibilities

* Handles inbound patient calls, utilizing listening skills to ensure patient's needs and concerns regarding their equipment or services are addressed. Ensures that all requests are handled accurately and efficiently.

* Respond to inquiries about respiratory equipment, supplies, and services.

* Communicate with patients and referrals regarding order status, delivery schedules, and any necessary documentation or information required.

* Process new equipment orders and ensure proper documentation.

* Schedules patient appointments with the clinical team.


Qualifications

Education:

  • High School diploma

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 months experience in a customer service-based environment.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication skills and ability to work as a collaborative team member.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Excellent customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Health insurance knowledge.

Other:

  • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
