Oncology Medical Assistant/ CNA - Infusion Room

Compass Oncology, the Pacific Northwest's largest private Cancer Care Clinic group, is looking for an exceptional Certified Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant to join our oncology treatment room nursing team in our new East Cancer Center office in Clackamas, OR. Working the front lines of patient interaction, this individual will help guide our patients, answer questions, and gather information for our nursing staff in order to provide an exceptional patient experience in our treatment room.

Employment Type: Full-Time, 1.0 FTE or 40 Hours, M-F

Location: West Cancer Clinic (Tigard, OR)

Salary: $21.25-$34.03 Per Hour

*Final offer amounts are determined by a review of the candidate's applicable experience and qualifications, as well as, internal employee equity considerations.

Job Scope: Under direct supervision, assists the nursing staff with patient care duties in a clinical environment. Promotes efficient patient flow and patient care by bringing patients to the treatment room, taking VS, assisting patients to the bathroom, etc. Performs clinic support tasks including miscellaneous clerical tasks, answering phones, and cleaning chairs, equipment, restocking. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.

• Escorts patients to and from the treatment room as appropriate.
• Records patient data prior to each treatment room visit, including but not limited to, vital signs, height, weight, allergies, and medication changes.
• Obtains all necessary patient records as required by nursing
• Prepares and stocks supplies as needed.
• Assists nursing staff with exams and procedures as requested.
• Administers subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, as delegated by RN or physician.
• Maintains treatment room disinfection protocols.
• Answers patient calls for assistance
• Phones in prescriptions and makes other patient calls as directed by physicians and RN.
• Informs nurses of patient reschedules and no shows.
• Performs other administrative duties, i.e. typing, filing faxing, answering phones
• May enter orders under a provider's direction and supervision.
• Supports patient workflow in the treatment room, including check-in and management of infusion room patients.
  

• Accesses medical portals to retrieve and manage patient documents for the infusion room.

Education:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Certificate of graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants preferred.
• Current CPR certification required.

Experience/Training:

• Minimum (1-3) years of experience as a medical assistant or nursing assistant, preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Work will involve in-person interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.
