The Gerald May Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for the next AGC Endowed Chair of Construction Engineering and Management. This is a tenured faculty position at the rank of Associate or Full Professor in Construction Engineering and/or Construction Management. The anticipated start date is Fall 2026. We seek an accomplished and collaborative colleague to contribute to the research, teaching, and service missions of the CCEE Department. The successful candidate will join a vibrant department with 18 tenure-track and tenured faculty, several lecturers and research professors, 250 undergraduate students, and 90 graduate students. Our department offers three ABET-accredited undergraduate degrees (BS in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, and Construction Management) and four graduate degrees (Master’s in Construction Management, and MEng, MS, and PhD in engineering). The Department is housed in the Centennial Engineering Center, which contains state-of-the-art civil and construction engineering laboratories. CCEE is proud to be an endowed department; a distinction made possible through recent fundraising success and strong community partnerships. We are home to several prestigious endowed faculty positions, including the Robert J. Stamm Professorship in Advanced Design and Construction Practices, the Dana C. Wood Chair for Advanced Construction Materials and Technologies, and the Associated General Contractors (AGC) Chair of Construction Engineering and Management. Faculty in our department lead a thriving research enterprise with over $12 million in annual expenditures, and benefit from robust support for innovation and collaboration. UNM’s Rainforest Innovations fosters technology transfer and entrepreneurship, while proximity to Sandia National Laboratories and Los Alamos National Laboratory provides unique opportunities for high-impact, interdisciplinary research.
