Iteris is looking for an Manager, RTMC [Regional Management Center] to support the FDOT with management and coordination of Operations at the RTMC. The RTMC Manager shall work full-time on-site and manage the daily operations activities in accordance with the District 7 RTMC SOP, protocols, and policies.



What you will be doing:




  • Day-to-day management of the RTMC Operations staff and resources, including problem resolution concerning Operations
  • Ensure that operations are conducted within the design parameters, District 7 RTMC SOP, FDOT policies, and industry standards
  • Participate in Traffic Incident Management (TIM) meetings and ensure appropriate interagency coordination
  • Ensure appropriate interagency coordination with other regional TMCs
  • Participate in RTMC tours and presentations
  • Attend meetings as directed by the FDOT to include TIM and others as directed
  • Prepare monthly reports of performance measures for Operators and Shift Leaders
  • Determine and use existing measures of effectiveness in terms of efficiency and effectiveness in providing transportation management, traveler information, and incident management
  • Actively collaborate in updates of the District 7 RTMC SOP
  • Actively collaborate in the development and update of Operator training and certification materials to conform to updates in the District 7 RTMC SOP
  • Modify training materials as necessary as a result of system and employee performance analysis
  • Hire, terminate, promote, or evaluate office personnel
  • Oversee Operator training and certification process
  • Ensure adequate Operator staff coverage
  • Provide oversight and work closely as needed as an RTMC liaison for all Incident
  • Management Teams and construction Project Managers (identified in the Monthly Construction Status Report for projects under construction)
  • Assist with RTMC public relations activities such as RTMC marketing efforts, tours, and presentations, in coordination with the FDOT Contract Manager and PIO
  • Preparing recommended presentation materials, speeches, and public speaking engagements for TSM&O staff and assisting in coaching staff and vendors on handling media and public speaking engagements and inquiries
  • Coordinate, develop agendas, and facilitate various meetings with RTMC staff on an as needed basis
  • Perform all other tasks assigned by the FDOT



What you need to be successful in this role:




  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in the operations of a facility similar to the RTMC
  • Understanding of TSM&O and traffic engineering principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Incident Management operations
  • Demonstrated ability to provide formal training to and monitor performance of subordinate staff
  • Skilled in the use of advanced traffic management system (ATMS) applications
  • Skilled in the use of Windows operating system
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Good leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Good understanding of key management concepts
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information in layman's terms
  • Ability to work alternate work schedules and be on-call 24 hours/day
  • Ability to write technical reports, manuals, and correspondence
  • Ability to coordinate real-time activities and priorities
  • Able to always maintain a professional demeanor and appearance

Iteris anticipates paying a base salary between $64,900 and $72,300 for this role. Actual pay offered may be below or above these amounts, depending on the individual's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
