Duration: 1+ Year Contract Overview: Client is initiating a strategic project to modernize its legacy AS400-based Tax Management System. We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead this transformation from project initiation through go-live, ensuring successful selection and implementation of a modern solution. Top Skills Required: * 5-10+ years of experience as an IT Project Manager, preferably in government or public sector environments. * Proven experience managing tax system modernization or similar large-scale enterprise system replacement projects. * Strong understanding of RFP processes, vendor management, and enterprise software implementation. Nice-to-Have Skills: * AS400 experience * RFP development experience Key Responsibilities: * Lead the full project lifecycle within PMO, from initiation through planning, execution, and closure. * Collaborate with Tax SMEs, stakeholders, and technical teams to define scope, goals, and deliverables. * Drive the RFP process, including vendor evaluation and selection. * Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource allocations. * Facilitate status meetings, risk assessments, and issue resolution. * Ensure compliance with policies and stakeholder expectations. * Oversee implementation of the new Tax Management solution, including configuration, testing, training, and deployment. * Report progress to executive sponsors and leadership. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
