Position Summary

The Center for Development and Disability (CDD), established in 1990, is New Mexico's University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities Education, Research and Service. These centers, authorized by the Developmental Disabilities Assistance and Bill of Rights Act, build the capacities of states and communities to respond to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.

The successful candidate for this position will become an integral member of the CDD Early Childhood Learning Network (ECLN) team that includes CDD Home Visiting (HV) Consultants and the Early Childhood Network (ECN/FIT), which supports early intervention providers.

ECLN's Program Specialist will,

  • provide quality assurance oversight of all activities related to HV and ECN training and resource revision and development, including developing systems and processes for training across programs;
  • work with the ECLN management and administrative staff to develop surveys and evaluations, run reports, and collect data to support continuous quality improvement;
  • utilize the feedback and input to support planning future training and professional development by ECLN;
  • serve as a liaison with internal partners and the ECLN HV and ECN consultant teams and will work closely to create communications, fliers and printed materials for our division's programs;
  • have experience with providing end user support and technical assistance for on-line registration and/or Learning Management Systems (LMS) to Early Intervention and Home Visiting professionals throughout the state.

The Program Specialist will also have the ability to be flexible with shifting priorities. They will be skilled in organizing resources, establishing priorities, and working efficiently. They will have strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies from diverse communities throughout New Mexico.

This position is based in the Albuquerque CDD office. Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is required for this position to assist with the transportation of equipment and materials for community events.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications

Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies from diverse communities throughout New Mexico.

Experience examining and evaluating operations and developing and/or re-engineering operating strategies, systems, and procedures.

Ability to determine informational needs, to collect and analyze information, and to devise and develop statistical analyses and reports.

Skill in product design and branding techniques.

Possession of a valid New Mexico driver's license is required for this position to assist with the transportation of equipment and materials for community events.
