Acentra Health is looking for a Communications Advisor Specialist to join our growing team.

Job Summary:

This position supports Acentra Health's Beneficiary and Family Centered Care - Quality Improvement Organization (BFCC-QIO) and other national initiatives by representing the program at the federal level, particularly with CMS leadership at headquarters. This position serves as a key liaison between Acentra Health, CMS, and other national stakeholders - communicating program outcomes, elevating emerging issues, and ensuring strong alignment between operational execution and CMS priorities. The role requires a balance of strategic communication, professional engagement, and policy awareness rather than day-to-day communications management.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Acentra Health and the BFCC-QIO program in direct discussions and meetings with CMS headquarters leadership.
  • Serve as a liaison for CMS stakeholder relations, ensuring consistent, accurate, and timely exchange of information.
  • Support strategic outreach initiatives, including periodic briefings, CMS presentations, and national stakeholder meetings.
  • Contribute to the development of communication frameworks and outreach strategies that engage CMS and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal experts to gather data, success stories, and program results for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ensure all external communications and interactions comply with HIPAA and CMS policy standards.
  • Read, understand, and adhere to all corporate policies including policies related to HIPAA and its Privacy and Security Rules.

The list of accountabilities is not intended to be all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other education- and experience-related duties that management may deem necessary from time to time.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Public Policy, Communications, or Health Administration.
  • 3+ years of experience in stakeholder engagement, government relations, or program management within healthcare or the public sector.
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing, and briefing skills; able to communicate confidently with diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex program data into concise, high impact talking points and presentations.
  • Ability to travel to CMS headquarters (Baltimore, MD) and represent Acentra Health in person as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience representing organizations at the federal or national level, including meetings with senior government officials.
  • Strong understanding of Medicare, CMS operations, and QIO program structure.
  • Proven ability to synthesize complex program data into concise, high impact talking points and presentations.
  • Excellent relationship building, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook & Project).
