Position Title: Lead Housekeeper

Division: Advancia Government Services

Location: 2099 Frances Ave SE Bldg 917, Albuquerque, NM

Hourly Rate: $19.25 + $5.03 H&W

Position Summary

The lead housekeeper will be responsible for the oversight of several employees and managing the daily operations in a military lodging facility. They will also clean rooms and shared spaces, performing a combination of cleaning tasks, stocking supplies, and preparing rooms for visiting crews. Other duties include but are not limited to turning mattresses, making beds, removing soiled linens for laundering. Duties also include billeting services such as assigning rooms, maintaining room logs, and distributing keys. Position contingent on award.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Supervisory responsibilities to include:

  • Oversee that there is adequate staff coverage, resolve employee issues, and ensure that all tasks are being completed to exceptional standards

  • Account and maintain equipment, providing basic maintenance such as changing belts and filters on vacuum cleaners

  • Review and approve employee timesheets

  • Represent and be the liaison between Advancia Government Services and the government

  • Monitor and maintain supply inventory and notify company when restock is needed

  • Monitor and ensure that all cleaning agents are handled and utilized to best industry standards

  • Track all required government training for employees and ensure that it remains up to date

  • Ensure key control for all government issued keys that they are not duplicated, lost, misplaced, or used by unauthorized persons

  • Resolve issues with individual rooms and provide updates to the COR/Company concerning issues that need further attentions. The lead housekeeper will produce a living document of all issues pertaining to room availability to ensure on-going traceability

  • Maintain and monitor system to issue back-up key

  • Provide the COR/Company a list of the rooms that will be utilized throughout the period of occupancy.

Billeting Services to include:

  • Ensure rooms are clean and fresh linens are on beds prior to check-in. Also ensure dirty/used linens are placed in bags and removed from the room to be placed in designated collection points

  • Log and submit a list of rooms that will be utilized during period of occupancy

  • Determine crew member assignments, distribute keys upon check-in, and collect keys upon check-out to ensure out-going crewmembers will not longer have access to rooms

  • Provide back-up keys after hours on an on-call basis

Housekeeping services to include:

  • Initial deep cleaning of the facility that will take place during the first two weeks of employment

  • Maintain all floors to be clean and free of dirt via vacuuming, sweeping, dust mopping, wet mopping, and spot cleaning

  • Clean baseboards, corners, and wall/floor edges

  • Trash collection and removal

  • Exterior grounds up-keep such as picking up trash and debris

  • Low and High dusting to maintain surfaces free of dust, lint, cobwebs, and litter. Surfaces could include items such as tables, shelves, bookcases, storage lockers, windowsills, handrails, pictures, clocks, window blinds, fans, etc.

  • Indoor window cleaning

  • Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms to include all surfaces of sinks, toilets, plumbing fixtures, showers, mirrors, vents, and countertops

  • Maintain walls and grout to be free of all film, spots, and detergent build up

  • Once a week all toilets are to be flushed and all showers rand for at least five minutes

  • Cleaning and disinfecting kitchen area to include all surfaces and fixtures, vents, appliances, dishes/pots/pans, walls, and grout

  • Cleaning and maintaining laundry room area to include cleaning and disinfecting walls, cleaning appliances, and cleaning dryer vents and lint traps

  • Routinely clean hallways, stairwells, and common areas to maintain a clean, odor-free, and orderly condition

Education & Experience Requirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • 3+ year experience in a housekeeping or custodial position

  • 1+ year supervisory experience required

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, sanitation, and safety procedures

  • Ability to operate cleaning machines and tools

  • Ability to complete all required government training

  • Time management and organization skills to complete tasks efficiently, on schedule, and with minimal supervision

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Must be able to pass background check

Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands

  • Walking and standing required. You may have to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Most of the work is performed indoors with some outdoor duties

  • Will be required to stand, walk and push or pull heavy equipment and supplies. There will be considerable reaching, stooping, kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing as required.

  • Exposure to cleaning agents

  • Work may involve repetitive motions and task in a fast-paced environment

  • Work will require on-call, nights, days, weekends, and holiday shifts depending on facility need
