Overview

The Sr. GMS SCADA Engineer will possess specific knowledge of ADMS and SCADA applications, as well as knowledge of the SCADA field system communications architecture and protocols for communication with Remote Terminal Units and other field SCADA devices. Experience with working directly with field crews and with ABB/Hitachi SCADA is highly preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Manage RTU Deployment:
    • Coordinate with Engineers, P&C Settings, Field personnel, Project Managers, and Substation Operations personnel
    • Create SCADA Point Tabulations for RTUs
    • Configure RTUs in SCADA and FEP
    • Perform SCADA Rollout with Engineer as Required
    • Perform SCADA to FEP Linking of RTUs
    • Troubleshoot RTUs in Real-Time during Point Check / Commissioning
  • Work with Control Center Operators to Resolve RTU Issues in Real-Time
  • Work with Field Personnel to Resolve RTU Issues in Real-Time
  • Provide Out-of-Scan RTU Reports to Appropriate Field Personnel Groups
  • Provide RTU Alarm Reports to Appropriate Field Personnel Groups
  • Coordinate with DCC Operators the following:
    • Timing of SCADA Sync
    • Timing of Model Incremental Updates from GIS
    • Alarm Groupings and Assignments
    • Model-to-SCADA Linking of RTUs as Required
    • Troubleshoot FLISR Events as Required
    • Execute SCADA Rollouts as Required
    • Work with SCADA P2P Engineers as Required
    • Troubleshoot / Validate SCADA Model Incremental Updates
    • Re-Schema Databases as Required
  • SCADA Troubleshooting and Support, general administration and maintenance of the SCADA system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5-10 years proven experience working with SCADA systems, including expertise with Point to Point testing, SCADA database updates, and SCADA day to day support.
  • Experience with ABB/Hitachi preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of SCADA field communications protocols (Modbus, DNP, DNP-IP, etc.)
  • Excellent technical and communications (writing and verbal) skills
  • Knowledge of the Generation Electric Grid
  • Prior experience working directly with field crews on SCADA P2P testing
  • Detail oriented, strong organizational and time management skills to effectively manage all SCADA responsibilities
  • Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities

Travel & Candidate Location Requirements

  • Up to 25% travel to client locations

Compensation: In accordance with local law, the below salary range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Other Compensation: Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program which is contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.

USD $88,067.00 - USD $170,019.00 /Yr.
