Construction Manager

In this role you will lead execution and delivery of small and mid-sized ($1-$7MM) capital and infrastructure and/or new manufacturing process/product projects. This role will ensure projects are delivered safely on time, within scope, and on budget, while meeting quality standards and aligning with business objectives. The Construction Manager will be involved in detailed design through execution and startup, coordinating cross-functional teams, contractors, and external partners to drive successful outcomes. This role plays a critical part in advancing our global manufacturing capabilities and delivering strategic capital investments aligned with our growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end management for construction and equipment installation/modification, including scope, schedule, budget, risk, and quality.

  • Develop and manage project execution plans, work breakdown structures, budget and resource allocations.

  • Oversee contractor and vendor performance; manage bid, procurement, and contract administration processes.

  • Ensure strict adherence to local safety standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.

  • Facilitate design reviews, risk evaluations, and constructability assessments.

  • Monitor and report project progress using KPIs, dashboards, and regular updates to stakeholders.

  • Ensure effective change management, including scope changes, budget adjustments, and stakeholder communication.

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Technology, EHS, Operations, and Finance to align on project goals and approvals.

  • Proactively integrate lessons learned into ongoing processes and future project planning to drive continuous improvement. Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth project execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in project management, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field

  • 9+ years of experience managing building renovation/new construction and equipment installation projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment systems.

  • Proven ability to manage local contractors and vendors, with strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.

  • Experience managing projects within a matrixed structure involving international and cross-disciplinary stakeholders

  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and contractor/vendor relationships.

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in project management and collaboration tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, Primavera, or equivalent).

  • Commitment to safety excellence and regulatory compliance.

  • Experience with chemical operations and associated risk assessment and elimination (FMEA, Hazard analysis, HazOp, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Engineering or related field

  • PMP or CCM certification
