Environmental Remediation Scientist or Engineer

Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Environmental Remediation Scientist or Engineer to join our environmental sciences and engineering practice in our Milwaukee or Mequon, Wisconsin offices. In this position, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic knowledge and practical experience to real-world situations related to contaminated site assessment & remediation, groundwater management, water treatment, and environmental due diligence for a diverse national private and public sector client base, while also learning and expanding the business skills needed for a successful consulting career.

Task and project management, including planning and implementing investigation and remediation projects, budgeting and budget management, adherence to schedule, quality, client satisfaction, and profitability.
• Work plan development, data evaluation, and report writing.
• Data analysis, including coordination with other staff members to prepare maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and database management.
• Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.
• Review and manage written document production.
• Management and mentoring of junior staff and managing subcontractors.
• Manage work to meet contract schedules, appropriate codes and regulations, regulatory compliance and/or enforcement and industry standard-of-care criteria.
• Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other parties.
• Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring.
• Conduct fieldwork including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor oversight, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction.
• Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field. (required)
• Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
• Ability and interest in obtaining professional licensure (i.e., P.G. or P.E.) (preferred).

• At least 5 years of direct environmental consulting experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
• Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
• Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
• Regular field work and overnight travel. (required)
• Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers. (preferred)
• Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
