Summer Youth Program Coordinator

We are seeking a Temporary Need Employee to coordinate the Summer Youth Baseball Program in Eastman's Recreation Department. This position is needed generally from February through July only and requires a flexible schedule with peak hours worked during summer months. This role reports to the Recreation Team Lead.

Responsibilities:
* Assisting in recruiting, training and onboarding coaches and scorekeepers.
* Providing oversight of scheduling and developing team rosters.
* Ensuring playing fields are prepared for games in collaboration with facility owner/manager.
* Tracking and maintaining participation data and team statistics.
* Serving as the primary point of communication with coaches and parents/guardians, especially related to schedule changes, special activities and reminders.
* Maintaining software used for summer youth programs.
* Collaborating closely with Eastman Recreation staff.
* Gathering and consolidating feedback from coaches and participants and incorporating learnings into program enhancements.

* High school diploma or equivalent (GED). A bachelor's degree in physical education, athletic administration or related field is preferred.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in athletics and coaching with preferred experience with children/youth.
* Proficiency in youth baseball, with an emphasis on fundamentals and skill development.
* High degree of professionalism with excellent organization, adaptability, attention to detail and follow-through.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is beneficial.
