Job Description




As a Security Officer - Shelter Patrol - Morning Shift in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. As an unarmed patrol professional with Allied Universal, you will monitor and patrol designated shelter locations, helping to deter security-related incidents while providing a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, assisting in access control, and engaging with residents and visitors to offer exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by following site-specific security-related procedures and policies at the shelter location.
  • Help to deter unauthorized activities by conducting regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its perimeter.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm and problem-solving manner, following guidance from Allied Universal and site management.
  • Observe and report any unusual activity or security-related concerns encountered during patrols or while stationed at assigned posts.
  • Assist individuals at the shelter with general questions and requests, providing a visible Allied Universal presence.
  • Support emergency response activities as needed, in accordance with established protocols for the shelter environment.
  • Communicate clearly with Allied Universal management, site staff, and emergency responders as required.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
  • Current certification in CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
