Job Description




As a Security Guard - NYS Licensed Government Patrol in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer with Allied Universal, you will help to deter security-related incidents by conducting routine patrols and staying visible throughout government-operated transit locations. Your presence will contribute to a secure environment while you interact with the public and provide exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, as well as responding to emergencies when appropriate.
  • Respond in a calm, problem-solving manner to incidents and critical situations that may arise at the location.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of the premises and perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and identify potential issues.
  • Maintain a visible presence throughout the assigned location to assist with security-related matters and provide support to clients, visitors, and/or the public.
  • Document and report any unusual activities, security-related incidents, or maintenance needs according to Allied Universal and site-specific protocols.
  • Work closely with local authorities and Allied Universal management as needed during emergencies or security-related events.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Security Guard License is required.
  • Candidates should be able to work at locations with limited on-site facilities such as portable toilets or a rustic guard shack; this is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
