Job Title: AI Senior Business Analyst

Location: Chantilly, VA

Job Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst will support the customer's Artificial Intelligence (AI) Program by providing business analyst support for product research, piloting, and business-area AI research and development (R&D). This role requires a blend of technical and analytical expertise, stakeholder engagement, and Agile experience to accelerate the delivery and adoption of AI capabilities. The analyst will work closely with the joint customer-AI Consultant teams to identify, evaluate, and deliver high-value AI use cases.

Key Responsibilities:


  • AI Systems/Product Research, Evaluation, and Piloting:

    • Maintain a tracker of AI-related products (commercial and open-source).
    • Coordinate technical and security requirements gathering across stakeholders.
    • Recommend products/models for proof-of-concept and pilot testing.
    • Conduct vendor risk assessments and document findings.
    • Manage project plans and documentation for product sourcing and acquisition.
    • Facilitate customer and vendor meetings and capture meeting notes.
    • Lead/support pilot coordination, including test case development, feedback analysis, and procurement recommendations.
    • Support PI planning to capture planning inputs and prioritize use case selection and PI readiness activities.


  • Agile Sprint Team Support:

    • Support sprint-based development (or evaluation) for AI products and enhancements.
    • Update product backlogs with user stories, acceptance criteria, and assignments.
    • Develop sprint plans and prioritization schedules.
    • Deliver release notes and maintain change control logs.
    • Report on security-related incidents and provide weekly summaries.
    • Produce ad-hoc analysis reports and technical documentation.


  • AI Research and Development (R&D):

    • Host design thinking and discovery sessions to identify emerging AI use cases.
    • Collaborate with the AI Program to prioritize use cases during PI planning.
    • Define business goals and map systems, processes, and applications at a technical level.
    • Propose AI solutions to meet business needs and report capability gaps.
    • Support business process reengineering efforts with planning and scoping.
    • Develop proofs-of-concept to demonstrate business value.
    • Write project plans outlining requirements, success criteria, and effort estimates.
    • Deliver results reports with findings, cost/delivery estimates, and recommendations.
    • Organize prioritization sessions to select use cases for production.
    • Partner with customer staff to deliver production-ready AI systems and processes.




Required Skills and Experience:


  • 7 years of experience in business analysis, product research, and Agile environments.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies, use case development, and enterprise implementation.
  • Experience with vendor management, pilot coordination, and R &D activities.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies (including SAFe) and sprint planning.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
  • Familiarity with business process mapping and reengineering.
  • Ability to work proactively, lead meetings/working sessions, and deliver client-ready artifacts and deliverables.


Certifications (Required or Preferred):

Required:


  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or PMI-PBA
  • Agile certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe Agilest)


Preferred:


  • Scrum Master certification
  • AI-related certifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
