Position Overview
We are seeking a reliable and patient-focused Patient Services Representative I (PSR I) to join our healthcare team. This on-site position plays a key role in patient care by performing quality blood draws, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and maintaining an environment of professionalism, accuracy, and compassion. The PSR I serves as the face of the organization, helping patients feel at ease while ensuring that all procedures are performed safely and in accordance with established protocols. Job Responsibilities
Perform daily specimen collection and processing activities accurately, efficiently, and on schedule under the supervision of the area supervisor
Greet patients courteously and create a professional, welcoming environment that fosters trust and confidence
Draw quality blood samples from patients-including pediatric and geriatric populations-following all safety and procedural standards
Prepare, label, and handle specimens according to established protocols to ensure integrity for lab testing
Maintain required records and documentation accurately and confidentially
Follow infection control, safety, and quality assurance standards to maintain a safe and professional workspace
Promote a positive image of the organization to patients, clients, coworkers, and the public
Maintain flexibility to meet scheduling needs, including Saturday rotations and holiday coverage as required
Job Requirements
Ability to perform accurate, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric collections
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Proficiency in data entry and keyboarding
Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to attendance standards
Must have reliable transportation to and from the worksite (public transit or rideshare not acceptable)
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; 1 or more years preferred
Customer service experience in a healthcare, retail, or service setting preferred
Data entry or EMR system experience required
New phlebotomy graduates are welcome to apply
Additional Job Details
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-3:00 PM; mandatory Saturday rotation, 7:00 AM-12:00 PM
Work hours: 35-40 hours per week; overtime not expected
On-site position; remote work is not available
COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this role
Candidates must live within a 20-25 minute commute of the worksite to ensure reliable attendance
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness will result in termination
Compensation rate is based on verified years of direct experience; overlapping roles do not count twice
