The Benefits Administrator II plays a key role in understanding, managing and participating in improvement efforts on the systems aspects of Tessera's benefits programs. These systems include Workday, Tessera's HCM/HRIS system, as well as vendor systems that support various Benefits programs. This individual works closely with Tessera's payroll and finance functions to improve Workday benefits business processes and resolve individual employee system issues. In addition, the Benefits Administrator II is responsible for maintaining accurate records in Workday, processing claims, managing benefit invoicing, and ensuring compliance with ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA regulations. The position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining confidentiality and a high level of customer service. The Benefits Administrator II also has responsibility for managing employee benefits for an assigned cohort of Tessera sites, which would include responses to individual employee queries, assisting employees with annual open enrollment, and working with outside vendors to resolve employee benefits plan issues.
Acts as functional lead for Workday Benefits integrations, updates, and ongoing changes. Frequent partnering with Finance and Payroll stakeholders to identify and implement Workday benefit module improvements. Coordinates daily benefits processing, including enrollments, terminations, and status changes in Workday (the company's HCM/HRIS system) and any third-party systems. Ensures accurate and timely entries in Tessera's Benefits and Retirement plans. Manages and configures the benefits module within the HRIS to ensure that all insurance rates, fees, and other benefit-related information are accurate and up to date. Attends regular meetings with Workday and Payroll functions to anticipate and resolve system issues. Pursues ongoing advanced Workday training to become a subject matter expert in benefits transactions, business processes, and configuration. Informs the third-party Administrator of employees' COBRA eligibility. Processes life and disability claims accurately and timely. Participates in developing departmental communications, goals, objectives, processes, workflows, and desk manuals. Creates promotional materials to encourage the utilization of various programs. Accurately and promptly reviews and reconciles monthly benefit invoices for submission and further processing by the union, vendor, and Tessera's Finance Department. Handles and resolves more complex invoices, continuously working to improve their functionality. Participates in developing departmental communications, goals, objectives, processes, workflows, and desk manuals. Creates promotional materials to encourage the utilization of various programs. Educates employees on benefits programs by counseling them and their dependents to make informed decisions about their benefit plans and applicable payroll deductions. Collaborates with Vocational staff as needed to provide additional support for employees who may struggle to understand or manage their benefits. Maintains close communication with HR team, managers, and employees regarding leave of absence effects on benefits eligibility and payroll deductions. Collaborates with the Benefits Manager to develop training strategies and materials, including training videos for Benefits Administrators and Tessera's People Department. Adjusts various insurance rates and fees in WD Works collaboratively with finance and payroll departments to ensure accurate and timely employer and employee deductions and contributions to benefit plans. Performs regular peer and self-audits and manages weekly benefits reports to ensure the completion and accuracy of benefit events and records. Assists in the coordination of benefit surveys and focus groups. Ensures compliance with ERISA, ACA, and HIPAA. Maintains the integrity of employee benefit files by ensuring all documents are filed or uploaded electronically in a timely manner and handles sensitive information with discretion to keep records accurate, timely, and confidential. Monitors supplies for each location and coordinates access to appropriate materials. Maintains a professional-level customer service environment by communicating effectively with all internal and external customers, including employees, co-workers, carriers, vendors, and benefits consultants. Is adaptable and flexible to changing business needs. Is mission driven and passionate about working with a diverse population including persons with disabilities. Conducts regular and consistent site visits to Tessera direct labor work locations for employee support and potential location start-ups. Performs other duties/projects as assigned.

Summary of desired skills and experience for the Tessera Benefits Administrator II:
Bachelor's degree is required. 3 - 5 years of previous experience in Human Resources, Benefits, or Claims Processing is required Combination of previous experience and education will be considered. CEBS, CBP, HIA, PHR, or SHRM-CP certifications is preferred. Previous experience with Workday is preferred. Due to the need to travel to various Tessera sites, a valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
