Hourly Pay: $23 | Mileage Reimbursement: $0.70/mile | Start Date: October 13, 2025 Join the frontlines of recovery and make a direct impact in the lives of families affected by Hurricane Helene. As a Door-to-Door Outreach Specialist, you'll be the face of hope-educating residents about FEMA relief funding and guiding them toward resources that can help rebuild their homes and lives. This is not a sales role-it's a mission-driven opportunity to serve your community and ensure no eligible household is left behind. Training & Schedule Start Date: Monday, October 13, 2025 Training: One-day, in-person session Southern Regions: Watauga, Mitchell, Henderson, Buncombe, McDowell, Yancey, Rutherford, and Haywood Counties Northern Regions: Boone Travel and lodging fully covered if needed Week 1: Monday: 8-hour training Tuesday-Friday: Outreach (32 hours) Total: 40 hours Ongoing Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 8 AM-5 PM 40 hours/week Mileage & Travel Daily odometer photos required (start and end of day) Drivers reimbursed at $0.70 per mile Regional Assignments You'll be assigned to one of the following counties in Western NC: RegionCounties & Positions NorthWatauga (2), Mitchell (7) SouthHenderson (15), McDowell (5), Yancey (6), Haywood (6), Rutherford (2), Buncombe (16) Each region is supported by two-person teams traveling door-to-door together. Goal is to have a person that lives in that county support that county********** Responsibilities Conduct door-to-door outreach in assigned neighborhoods Educate residents about FEMA disaster relief programs Collect contact info and assess interest in follow-up support Build trust through respectful, empathetic engagement Submit daily reports on outreach progress Use mobile tools to log visits and share resources Distribute flyers, brochures, and contact info Refer complex issues to appropriate staff Maintain professionalism and positivity in all interactions Qualifications Strong communication skills and community service mindset Familiarity with Western NC neighborhoods preferred Reliable transportation and willingness to travel Basic tech proficiency (smartphone apps, GPS, data entry) Ability to walk and work outdoors in varying conditions Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus What We Offer Travel and lodging covered for training Supportive team environment with daily check-ins Consistent 40-hour work week (Tuesday-Saturday) Opportunity to make a tangible difference in disaster recovery Potential for extension beyond January 1 for top performers *Skills* customer service, outreach, documentation *Top Skills Details* customer service,outreach,documentation *Additional Skills & Qualifications* volunteer experience *Experience Level* Entry Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
