Posting Summary |
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Business Assistant I for the Ralph W. Voorhees Center for Civic Engagement at the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy.
Among the key duties of the position are the following:
- Helps to provide accounting and budget support to Director, Principal Investigators, and research staff.
- Handles grant submission preparation (pre-award) and all related documents and subcontract and consultation agreement prep and monitoring post-award grant accounts including burn rates and PI reports and any interim reports to funders.
- Handles day to day accounting support, purchasing, payroll, and bill payment functions;
- Handles maintenance of financial records and accounts, monitoring accounts, reconciling payment to accounts and making appropriate adjustments; creating financial reports and analysis, and other related material.
- Handles support of IRB submissions (i.e., submissions in the eIRB system as well as overseeing correspondence between center staff and IRB administrators).
- Supports faculty as they develop and submit proposals through the University systems.
- Performs other related duties as necessary.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field and at least two (2) years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience demonstrating knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
