Description and Requirements

The Software Portfolio Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of software offerings, creating the go-to-market plan including product assortment, price, placement and promotional strategy, and will be ultimately accountable for driving software sales growth. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of ecommerce best practices, consumer behavior, and data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Software Product Marketing (Go-to-Market) Strategy
    • Build and maintain strong relationships across multiple partner software organizations, ensuring consistent communication and collaboration.
    • Act as the primary liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners to align on goals, strategy, and execution
    • Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to drive go-to-market initiatives and ensure partner success
    • 4P Strategy (Product Offer Assortment, Price, Placement, Promotion) for web, direct seller and retail routes to market.
  • Pricing Strategy:
    • Develop and implement pricing strategies for software products to maximize profitability and market share.
    • Monitor competitor product assortment and pricing trends to adjust pricing strategies accordingly.
    • Conduct regular pricing analysis and provide recommendations for adjustments.
  • Promotions and Offers:
    • Define Marketing priorities/offers/promotions for incorporation into Marketing Demand Gen.
    • Analyze the effectiveness of promotions and adjust strategies to optimize performance.
  • Product Assortment:
    • Optimize the product assortment to meet customer demand and maximize sales.
    • Work with the product development team to identify new product opportunities and ensure timely product launches.
    • Conduct regular assortment reviews to ensure a competitive and appealing product range.
  • Business Performance / KPI's / Reporting
    • Monitor sales performance and key metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Model Revenue Projections, Set Targets, and report on key performance drivers.
  • Partner & Category Management:
    • Identify opportunities to expand partner capabilities and offerings, resulting in increased revenue and market reach
    • Manage software partner onboarding, business reviews, opportunity development.
    • Seek out new partnership opportunities to enhance and grow the Consumer/SMB software portfolio
    • Manage new and existing contracts to ensure optimal business terms for both parties
    • Create effective sales enablement strategies in collaboration with 3rd Party Software Partners (SPIFF, Sales Aids, Training)
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, product development, and customer service.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to align on strategies and objectives.
    • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to strategic planning sessions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Ecommerce, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in technology marketing, ecommerce, merchandising, pricing, partner development or a related role.
  • Proficiency in ecommerce platforms, analytics tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable in security software and software industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to drive decisions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
We are open to this role being remote but candidates in the EST or CST time zones are preferred.
The base salary budgeted range for this position is $140,000-$170,000. Individuals will also be eligible for a 12% annual performance bonus. Lenovo's great benefits can be found at www.lenovobenefits.com.
