Wage Range: $ 20.00 to $22.00/hr

Position Summary:

Assists the Terrain Park Manager in directing and supervising terrain park staff to monitor and maintain terrain park features as well as other freestyle features when applicable. Acts as host in regard to crowd supervision, safety awareness education, freestyle terrain etiquette, and guest relations. Aids in design and construction of terrain park features. Enforces terrain park pass policy.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:
  • Install and maintain park signage, closures, trail markings, fencing, and tower pads.
  • Assist in setup of terrain park features.
  • Inspection of freestyle terrain features visually and physically.
  • Ongoing monitoring and maintenance of terrain features and equipment.
  • Fill out daily logs and incident reports as needed.
  • Assist with special events including construction and maintenance of event sites.
  • Participate in guest education and training.
  • Assist Freestyle Terrain Manager with training, scheduling, and supervision of park staff.
  • Will ensure documentation is filled out completely, accurately, and objectively.
  • Will keep track of, and acquire supplies as needed.
  • Check park passes and enforce terrain park pass policy.

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must gain knowledge of the services that Schweitzer Mountain Resort offers.
  • Frequently working around heavy equipment.
  • May be required to help administer first aid and assist ski patrol.
  • Will assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Specific Job Skills:

License/Certifications - Drivers License preferred, USSA 100 Freestyle Certification or PSIA Freestyle Certification preferred.

Technical - None

Physical Capabilities - Advanced level skiing or snowboarding with park experience required. Able to remain outside in all weather conditions for entirety of shift. Able to lift 50lbs on own and more with assistance.

Additional -
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to customers, and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.

Education/Related Experience:

Minimum education required - English reading, writing and communication, Highschool diploma or GED preferred.

Minimum time in related position - At least 1 month related experience preferred.
