GENERAL FUNCTIONS:

Payment Processor will be responsible for the daily payment posting, daily payment reconciliations, lockbox operations, payment vendor relations and payoffs processing. The Payment Processor will ensure that payment posting is accurate and timely.



Duties & Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Front end payment processing including acceptance of payments from different sources and processing through our mortgage servicing platform.
  • Bank functions including wire and transfer initiation and remote check deposits.
  • Process exemptions to determine if any payments were misapplied and correct them in a timely manner.
  • Review, prioritize, and provide timely and accurate response to tasks, email, etc.
  • Analyze information on a situation, problem, loan or borrower, and make appropriate recommendation on actions.
  • Accurate and timely processing of suspense transactions on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily payment work for balancing.
  • Maintain and document a clear audit trail on all cash and payment transactions.
  • Able to research, respond, and provide information to customers (internal and external) on a wide variety of more complex mortgage loan servicing topics, payments, ACH and research on related payment topics.
  • Assist in identifying potential risks, communicate to management and take appropriate steps to avoid risk.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of processes and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships by always providing high quality customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Promotes honest and open communication throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrate behaviors that are consistent with TruHome's values, philosophies, and leadership characteristics.
  • Work with other departments to ensure the workflow or process provides the best service to the members.
  • Willingness to performs other duties/projects as assigned.


Requirements

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of payment management and processing.
  • Knowledge of bank account reconciliations.
  • Knowledge of Agency Loss Mitigation alternatives.
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and RESPA Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of mortgage software.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and with strict deadlines.
  • Ability to self-initiate and work independently without close supervision.
  • Strong ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal conflict and miscommunications.
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet software and ability to use word processing software.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

In this position, individual will be expected to lift up to 20 pounds from time to time.

Also, must be able to stoop, bend, reach, or stand for extended periods of time. Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is expected to work in general office environment and may have to travel for visits to credit union facilities or for training purposes. Overtime will be expected to be worked as needed.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year experience processing cash functions within a financial institution.
