Your Next Opportunity awaits you! The Medical ICU is a 28-bed adult ICU that provides comprehensive interdisciplinary care to critically ill patients. Nurse to patient ratios are based on acuity but are typically 1:2 and function within a team environment. The unit employs over 120 nurses with over 750 years of combined experience. Our team cares for the adult patient who needs critical care nursing expertise and the critical care monitoring the MICU provides. We care for patients with a variety of illnesses and diseases that involve the lungs, liver, kidneys, and other unique viruses. Many patients have long-term chronic diseases and require the specialized care of the medical critical care RN. Many of these illnesses are life-ending and the interdisciplinary team supports the patient and the family during this difficult time. Knowledge of ventilators, vasopressors, and intravascular monitoring is needed or will be taught to the novice ICU clinician in a team-focused, patient-centric environment. Apply Today! TIME TYPE: FULL TIME SHIFT: ROTATING Performs a variety of patient care and administrative support functions under the supervision of Medical Center professionals in an inpatient or outpatient setting or in a patient's home. Assists patients with personal care as needed for optimal recovery during hospitalization. Performs basic nursing skillsas delegated by an RN and in accordance with policy and procedureto promote patient health and wellness. Provides for a safe environment and safe delivery of care. Performs administrative support functions. Maintains necessary skills and competencies. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent. Experience: No experience required. Relevant experience preferred. Licensure: Certified Nursing Aide certification (CNA) through the Virginia Board of Nursing. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires frequently bending/stooping and driving (Home Health Aide only). Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs and > 100lbs (Home Health Aide only). May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
