Job Overview
The Patient Scheduler Senior is responsible for performing complex scheduling for multidisciplinary appointments, procedures, and other necessary services within scheduling pods. Utilizes specialized knowledge in scheduling procedures. Schedules and coordinates various complex disciplines utilizing specialized knowledge to navigate multi-state and payor mixes through extensive understanding and expertise related to scheduling intricacies, ensuring efficient and effective patient flow and care coordination. Shift: Days. Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm *Hybrid
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs complex scheduling across outpatient appointments, procedures, and services within scheduling pods. Maintains knowledge related to multiple modalities and supports multidisciplinary scheduling.
- Utilizes appropriate systems according to procedure type and applies knowledge of physician procedures, privileges, and block time when appropriate.
- Answers specific questions regarding appointments, procedures, and services (e.g., current studies, study-specific information, potential patients, contact lists, etc.), including insurance, registration, and/or general concerns.
- Serves as a subject matter expert responsible for training/mentoring new team members.
- Acts as a scheduling process improvement specialist to drive change within the scheduling unit.
- Actively works on provider templates and patient work queues to diagnose issues and ensure efficient/effective patient flow.
- Communicates issues, manages escalation, and follows through to resolution.
- Maintains consistent and productive communication with necessary departments, including precertification, registration, coordinators, etc.
- Initiates the billing process by having introductory conversations with the patient/family regarding benefits and cost estimates for the bill.
- Supports revenue cycle goals by ensuring accurate and timely scheduling, registration, and billing information.
- Participates in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction, provider productivity, and revenue cycle efficiency.
- Adheres to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to patient scheduling and confidentiality.
Minimum Qualifications

- High school diploma or GED
- Experience
- Two (2) years of healthcare and/or administrative/customer service experience
Salary Information Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience.
Hourly Range: $22.20 to $33.30
