Job Summary:

Maintains, configures, and troubleshoots the hardware and software components of the Data Center, Cloud, and network. Ensures that the servers and systems are running smoothly and securely and that users can access the necessary resources and IT services. Provides technical support and guidance to users and other IT staff, ensuring compliance with security policies and standards. Performs tasks such as installing, configuring, updating, and upgrading software and hardware, backing up and restoring data. Monitors system performance and security and provides technical support and training to users.

Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:



  • Installs, configures, and updates software and hardware components on servers and workstations.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves technical issues related to systems and server functionality, performance, and security.
  • Performs daily system and network checks and report any issues or anomalies.
  • Installs and tests new software and hardware components, ensuring compatibility and functionality with existing systems and networks.
  • Applies system and network patches and updates as required, guaranteeing compliance with security standards and regulations.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots technical issues related to system and network functionality, performance, and security, escalating complex issues to senior system administrators or the Infrastructure Manager.
  • Provides technical support and assistance to users and members via phone, email, or ticketing system and responds to their requests and inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Documents system and network configurations, procedures, and incidents and maintains accurate and updated records.
  • Follows established policies and procedures for system and network administration and security adhering to best practices and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with other system administrators, IT staff, and vendors to ensure optimal system and network performance and service delivery.
  • Participates in projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Provides Tier 2 Help-Desk support and participates in on-call rotation as scheduled and directed by the Infrastructure Manager.



Qualifications:



  • An associate degree in information technology or a related technical field or three (3) to five (5) years of working experience in IT, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows server operating systems, including Active Directory, Group Policies, and a solid understanding of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, and DNS.
  • Certifications in CompTIA A+, MCP, or Azure are preferred.

Working Conditions:

Work will be performed in an indoor, climate-controlled environment where the noise level is quiet to moderate. Core business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Eastern. Work outside of those core business hours is likely to occur in this role, including on call, evenings and weekends.
