Duties, Responsibilities & Other

The OSP Practice Leader is a highly organized and experienced individual who assumes a pivotal role in day-to-day leadership, financial management,
marketing, coordination, collaboration, team building, mentoring and staff development within the technical practice.

Leadership & Team Development

    Lead by example, earning respect from all employees through professionalism, accountability, and presence.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the team by being available 24/7 as needed, both in the field and in the office.
  • Represent the company at internal and external events as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to Project Managers (PMs), Project Assistants (PAs), and field staff.
  • Fill in for PMs during absences or vacations; maintain a mid-level understanding of all ongoing OSP projects.

Project Oversight & Execution

  • Maintain daily communication with PMs and the Director to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Independently review PM reports weekly and conduct in-depth review sessions with PMs twice monthly.
  • Ensure drop and hit totals are accurately reported on a monthly basis.
  • Work closely with PMs on budgeting issues and ensure accurate revenue recognition for drops.

Bidding & Contract Management

  • Prepare and submit daily bids for ongoing opportunities.
  • Lead or support the completion of large bids and present summaries to VP and President.
  • Perform detailed contract reviews, including redlines and bid evaluations.
  • Participate in and lead bid reviews with internal stakeholders.

Meetings & Internal Communication

  • Lead weekly PM meetings and check-ins to align on project progress and challenges.
  • Attend weekly Construction Management (CM) meetings, providing valuable input and updates.
  • Promote open, professional communication, and maintain confidentiality and sensitivity with personnel matters.

Business Development & Growth

  • Identify and pursue new leads and opportunities to expand OSP operations.
  • Assist with the onboarding of new clients and subcontractors.

Operational Support

  • Support field personnel by resolving issues quickly and effectively.
  • Assist in the development of the annual budget and capital expenditure requests.
  • Participate in discussions related to compensation adjustments and team development.

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to earn respect and lead diverse teams.
  • Excellent communication skills - both upward to leadership and downward to staff - with emotional intelligence and professionalism.
  • Deep understanding of Managing Project Managers and Construction Managers
  • Knowledge of OSP Construction and field operations.
  • Ability to manage sensitive information discreetly.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Proactive problem-solver and team collaborator.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in related field (AEC Industry) and minimum of 7 years of related professional experience, or 11 years of equivalent
professional experience.
* Progressive professional and increasing project management and organizational management experience.
* Proven experience in project management roles within the technical practice.
* Demonstrated leadership capability to build and lead teams of technical practitioners and/or project managers.
* Strong interpersonal as well as verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
* Demonstrated ability to effectively manage budgets, project margins, and cash flow.
* Experience in business development, with a focus on maximizing client relationships and identifying growth opportunities.
* Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence within the Practice.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions.
* Adaptability and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Proficiency in relevant software and tools use in the practice area.
* Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to the service line.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Required:
* Ability to complete the KCI PM Training and Contract Training within six months of start date.

Certificates, licenses, and/or Registrations Preferred:
* Professional license or certification within the field of expertise preferred.
