Job Overview: RWJ Hamilton is seeking a highly dedicated Director Patient Care for Emergency Services and Intensive Care Unit. The Director utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach to facilitate optimal patient care. Essential Functions: Assumes the role as a leader in planning, directing, and managing the departments and staff to assure quality service on a 24 hour basis * Prepares and implements written policies and procedures all phases of departmental operations. * Periodically updates department Policy & Procedure Manuel. * Responsible through managers and supervisors for the overall operation and of all assigned departments. * Staff adequate and appropriate coverage for operations. * Directs all quality review functions and operations in the Department. This includes the clinical management of patients, patient satisfaction and safety and effective and efficient utilization of hospital services. * Establishes, implements and monitors annual goals and objectives which are consistent with the hospital's mission and objectives. All reports are thorough, accurate and submitted by assigned deadlines. * Monitors activities of managers and supervisors to ensure compliance with established guidelines and policies. * Facilitates strong lines of communication between managers and staff.
