JOB DUTIES:



  • Manage JOEM sales team to achieve revenue and profit goals.
  • Design and recommend sales programs and establish short and long-term sales strategies in North America for the Japanese Original Equipment Manufacturers (JOEM).
  • Provide management with key JOEM sales information. Establish sales objectives for NA JOEM team. Develop and maintain JOEM sales forecast for current and future years which align with overall NA sales strategy. Make sales calls on select key accounts, both Japanese OEM and Tier 1 & 2 supplier levels.
  • Promote sales of product line by solicitation at the design engineering level, focused on Japanese nationals with limited English skills.
  • Analyze current and emerging JOEM market trends to maintain competitiveness while meeting internal sales goals. Align product strategy with customer and market. Deliver product presentations to Engineering, Purchasing, and Materials Departments.
  • Build sales volume of existing products and search for new opportunities on design variations or new products utilizing our textile or thermoplastic technology.
  • Work closely with customers and internal engineering to recommend product enhancements or iterations to improve customer satisfaction and increase sales potential.
  • Continuously maintain a thorough technical understanding of product line and process capabilities to recommend solutions to the customer.
  • Support sales effort by providing samples, data, pricing, and product application information. Participate in product marketing strategies, trade shows, and new product development.
  • Perform data analysis and report preparation to sales director and management team.
  • Communicate and coordinate sales efforts with offices in Japan.
  • Communicate internally with Customer Service, Quality, Manufacturing, and Finance. Manage, develop, and motivate NA JOEM sales team to develop their skills to a high professional standard to achieve monthly and annual sales targets and KPIs.
  • May telecommute up to 2-3 days per week depending on customer visits.



MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:



  • Ten (10) years of experience as Account Manager, Sales Manager, or Assistant Sales Manager.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • The required ten (10) years of experience as Account Manager, Sales Manager, or Assistant Sales Manager must have involved the sale and strategic marketing of products or components to or for Japanese original equipment manufacturers.
  • The required experience must have included five (5) years of experience with customer negotiations, strategic planning, product positioning, competitive analysis, and sales to customers Toyota, Nissan, and Honda.


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENT:



  • Must have full professional proficiency in Japanese, both spoken and written.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENT:



  • Up to 25% to Japan and within North America as needed.
