Job Overview

Senior Manager, Store & Portfolio Strategy will be an integral member of the Business Strategy Team at Bloomingdale's, the enterprise minded unit that drives change, efficiency, and results by activating all business units through an aligned and clearly articulated strategy. Through strategic collaboration, analytical rigor, and structured problem-solving, the Senior Manager defines strategies and identifies opportunities across store and portfolio initiatives. In partnership with the Senior Director of Store & Portfolio Strategy, this role directly supports the Director of Stores and CFO and works closely with the CEO in conducting strategic analysis and making recommendations to inform decision-making, achieve alignment, and drive transformative business growth. The Senior Manager owns key functional processes, leads high-impact cross-functional initiatives, and serves as a strategic partner to collaborators across the Senior Store Team (SST) and field Store Leadership teams, balancing strategy-setting and execution while translating insights into actionable recommendations that drive results.

Essential Functions



  • Build frameworks and analytical models to drive structured strategy setting, decision-making, and operational alignment.
  • Uncover insights and surface opportunities that guide the Store Organization's focus, translating findings into actionable strategies that challenge assumptions and inform priorities.
  • Serve as the Store Strategy Lead for high-impact workstreams in support of Stores Functional Priorities, balancing near-term activation with long-term value creation; recent initiatives include Designer FPST, Beauty Committee, and Conversion Levers work.
  • Lead GM x Store Strategy Workshops and support store leadership to activate their 1-2-3 Year Individual Store Action Plans, enabling stores to dream big and achieve local leadership.
  • Independently own key functional initiatives including Store Principal Capital (SPC), Store Experimentation, Store Visit Prep Oversight, and managing the Store & Portfolio Workbook.
  • Guide the approach and priorities for the Weekly Stores Business Update and CSG Look Ahead, leveraging the Store Business Analyst to support analysis and execution.
  • Plan and facilitate strategic planning sessions (SST, Strategy Sync), workshops (SST/RDOS Offsites), and leadership summits (GM Summit), and support Board/EC Store Visits and Principal Visits - actively defining priorities, shaping content, aligning stakeholders, and driving the implementation of next steps.
  • Manage a Store Business Analyst responsible for research and insights to inform store strategy, investment decisions, and portfolio planning.


Qualifications and Competencies



  • We encourage candidates with either a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a related field to apply
  • 3-5 years related experience
  • Strong communication and attention to detail, values keeping others informed. Effectively presents information in a clear, cogent manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent leadership, facilitation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across functional lines and at many levels
  • Ability to think critically, creatively, strategically and technically
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and Company needs

  • Requires prolonged periods of sitting, with occasional standing
  • Occasionally requires walking, bending, reaching, hearing and talking
  • Continuous use of computers and other office equipment
  • Frequently lift/move up to 25lbs.
