As a Director, Commercial Formulary Management & Strategy, you will provide strategic and operational support for OptumRx Commercial formularies. In this capacity, you will partner with trade, clinical, analytics and formulary operations partners to develop, evaluate and execute formulary strategies for OptumRx's standard commercial formularies. This role requires knowledge of the PBM business and operations, strong cross functional collaboration and the ability to drive, articulate and effectively communicate cross-functional strategies to a variety of audiences.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead formulary strategy development, including partnering with utilization management teams, for key therapeutic classes
  • Facilitating use of robust modeling and analytics to support formulary strategy development and decisions
  • Facilitating cross-functional pipeline review and strategy coordination to proactively anticipate and respond to market changes, including new brand and generic launches
  • Assist in the presentation of formulary recommendations to internal stakeholders and assure appropriate communication to clients
  • Provide formulary trend insights and identify areas for improvement to optimize formulary strategies
  • Oversight of processes of Rx formulary governing body, including developing agendas, creation of background materials and documentation of decisions

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher
  • 7+ years of experience within Pharma, pharmacy benefit management (PBM) industry or healthcare payor industries
  • Experience in effective communication across stakeholder at all levels organizationally
  • Experience working cross functionally with teams including but not limited to Industry and Network, Clinical, Analytics, Product, and Finance functions
  • Demonstrated solid business acumen and strategic thinking with the ability to distill strategic concepts into actionable tactics

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Graduate degree (DPharma or MBA)
  • 2 years leadership experience
  • Experience in formulary strategy, management or execution
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to prioritize and handle multiple complex projects that spans multiple business units

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $132,200 to $226,600 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
