Georgia-Pacific has an exciting opportunity for a talented Operations Manager for the Pulp, Power, and Recovery area at our Toledo, Oregon containerboard mill. The Operations Manager will be part of the mill leadership team and reports directly to the Assistant General Manager of Toledo Operations.

The role is expected to lead the operations organization to achieve safety, environmental, and quality excellence and to lead transformational change through work processes and implementation of technology. Operations Excellence: Manage operations to achieve mill goals

* Understanding and communicating goals in the areas of quality and production

* Collaborating and knowledge sharing with other departments across mill to ensure success of operational goals

* Develops an understanding of the true current state and the desired future state, develops and executes plans and strategies to close the gaps

* Demonstrates a sense of urgency and accountability in:

* Housekeeping

* Prioritizing and processing work

* Supporting routine and annual outages

* Planning, assigning, and providing follow-up of work

* Strives for continuous improvement, recognizes opportunities to minimize and eliminate waste - follows-through to ensure achievement of results

* Manages and advances in all aspects of manufacturing to include Reliability, Quality, Cost, Yield, Compliance and Capital/Maintenance Investment

Safety & Compliance: Commitment to environmental, health, & safety excellence

* Acquires and shares knowledge of applicable standards, policies, and procedures in areas of EH&S

* Leads in a way that clearly values safety, regularly engages in and encourages safety participation amongst crew including facilitating safety meetings

* Possesses a passion for identifying and mitigating critical hazards

* Pursues environmental excellence

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Five (5) or more years of operations experience in a Pulp and Paper manufacturing operation OR within a Koch company

* Seven (7) or more years of supervisory experience leading a team of direct reports

* Experience with chemical recovery processes to include working with recovery boilers, evaporators, causticizing and lime kilns

What Will Put You Ahead

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering or Pulp and Paper Science

* Experience with Pulping processes

* Experience with Maintenance and Reliability Management Systems

* Experience with process optimization analysis and implementation
