Leidos is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Total Rewards Engagement to lead key initiatives that shape our competitive compensation and benefits programs. This role will serve as a central architect and executor of enterprise-wide Total Rewards projects designed to attract, retain, and engage top talent. A critical component of this role is developing and delivering clear, compelling, and consistent communication strategies that help employees understand and value their Total Rewards, driving deeper engagement and connection to the organization.

In addition, this individual will act as the lead Total Rewards partner for all merger and acquisition (M&A) activity, playing a critical role in due diligence, integration planning, and harmonization of rewards strategies.

This high-impact role requires strong leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable, data-driven Total Rewards solutions. The role reports to the Senior Vice President of Total Rewards and is based in Reston, VA, with flexibility on work location for the ideal candidate. Occasional travel to Reston is expected.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale, transformational Total Rewards projects that require stakeholder management across the enterprise.
  • Plan, organize, and lead integrations or harmonization activities related to Total Rewards programs to achieve project objectives within scope, time, quality, and budget parameters.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure alignment and integration of Total Rewards initiatives.
  • Develop project strategies and plans, including stakeholder assessment, communications, leadership alignment, organization transition, change readiness, capability transfer, and end-user training.
  • Partner with HR leads, Corporate Communications and business leaders to ensure Total Rewards programs are clearly understood and effectively communicated
  • Lead the development and delivery of engaging employee education and communication campaigns around Total Rewards programs and changes
  • Utilize feedback mechanisms and employee sentiment data to inform future enhancements to Total Rewards offerings
  • Develop and manage communications strategies for Total Rewards that educate employees to understand and value their company-sponsored pay and benefits programs.
  • Support the Senior Vice President of Total Rewards with ad-hoc reports and executive level presentations, as needed

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 15 years of relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of relevant experience OR, additional years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Experience working large-scale compensation and benefits projects, as well as M&A due diligence and integration, that impact corporate and executive populations.
  • Proven experience as a project manager in a matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of Total Rewards fundamentals (compensation, benefits, M&A)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative; able to influence and inspire team members and build broader consensus.
  • Experience in creating Total Rewards communications / engagement strategies and tactics and the delivery of supporting communications materials.
  • Ability to productively challenge and effectively influence others.
  • Skills to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives and deliver against deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, yet effectively work across functions and organizational layers, including with senior management.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15%.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Leidos will not offer sponsorship for this position.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills:

  • PMP certification
  • Experience in project management related to implementation of job architecture, HRIS, Total Rewards portals, wellness programs and other innovative offerings
  • Previous experience working for a government defense contractor.
  • Preferred location is Reston, Virginia working a hybrid schedule with a mix of on-site and remote presence. If not local to this area, the position can be worked remote with travel.
