Leidos is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to drive forward cutting-edge engineering efforts within the Maritime System Solutions (MSS) Portfolio of our Maritime Systems Division (MSD). This role is a unique opportunity to drive innovation in underwater vehicle systems, maritime sensors, subsea telemetry, and ISR solutions that support critical defense and national security missions.

You'll work with a multidisciplinary team developing advanced maritime technologies, from prototype design to full-scale system deployment for ongoing Navy missions.

What You'll Do

  • Provide strategic leadership in planning, innovating, then delivering against program baselines.
  • Work directly with various engineering disciplines to develop discrete build packages of existing and new products.
  • Drive innovative process improvements aligned with customer needs and mission goals.
  • Ensure a "design for manufacturing" focus is maintained during system development.
  • Maintain production schedules and advise to staffing or system needs.
  • Balance and provide prioritization for a team of Engineering Technologist supporting multiple programs.
  • Work closely with Facility Management to continually improve the manufacturing areas and resources supporting them.
  • Support hands on assembly, troubleshooting, repairing and testing of sub-assemblies through complete systems utilizing tools ranging from screwdrivers to 3D scanners and printers.

Basic Qualifications

What You Bring

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or operations discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a technical or hands on field.
  • Professional experience planning and maintaining task schedules.
  • U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain a SECRET clearance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience in the design, development, or integration of complex subsea maritime systems
  • Experience with UUVs, deployed subsea systems, and underwater payloads
  • Proven track record in product manufacturing and transitioning designs to production
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and quality-focused manufacturing processes
  • Exposure to DoD program execution.
  • Experience working with Navy personnel or other U.S. Military branches.
  • Active Secret clearance
