Compensation: $36.86 - $36.86 /hourly

Tessera is seeking a reliable, safety-focused Electrician to support facility operations at USAFA. This role is responsible for inspecting, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment across a range of commercial and industrial environments. The Electrician ensures all work is performed in compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC), Colorado state licensing standards, and Department of Defense (DoD) safety protocols. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a secure, mission-critical setting.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

  • Inspect, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems including lighting, motors, generators, and intercoms
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on lighting fixtures, outlets, switches, and circuit protection devices
  • Execute minor electrical installations and upgrades in compliance with NEC standards and safety protocols
  • Plan and lay out electrical work using blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Operate lift equipment and perform tasks at heights, in confined spaces, and under adverse weather conditions
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and material usage
  • Demonstrate professionalism and comply with PPE requirements and safety procedures

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical systems
  • Valid Colorado Journeyman Electrician License in good standing
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and NEC standards
  • Familiarity with motors, generators, lighting systems, and control panels
  • Experience working on federal or military installations preferred

Physical Requirements:

Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis.

  • May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.
  • Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
  • Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

  • A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.
