We are seeking a motivated Occupational Health & Safety Intern to join our team in the Summer of 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of workplace safety and health. As an intern, you will have the chance to work alongside our experienced safety professionals and contribute to the development and implementation of our safety programs.


Essential Duties

The Safety, Health & Environmental Department Internship includes a rotation and exposure to these areas:

  • Sample tasks for the rotation:
    • TDManufacturing
    • Truck Based Service HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical Trades
    • Construction (New Construction, Process Solutions, and Multi-family)
    • Special Projects
  • TDManufacturing:
    • Perform job site safety inspections
    • Participate in weekly safety meetings
    • Conduct a minimum of one safety meeting and training class
    • Complete one documented Safety, Health and Environmental process improvement.
  • Truck Based Service:
    • Attend one week of ride along with EHS Managers observing project activities.
    • Research or recommend lone worker risks and safety strategies.
    • Attend Safety meetings for each of the TBS trades.
  • Construction Teams:
    • Shadow BU Safety coordinators
    • Shadow project safety coordinators
    • Perform job site safety inspections
    • Participate in weekly safety meetings
    • Conduct a minimum of one safety meeting.
  • Special Projects:
    • Attend one week of ride along with EHS Managers observing Special Projects team activitites.

Minimum Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Masters in Public Health, Industrial Safety or similar.
  • Currently college level: Junior or Senior student
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Eligible to work 40 hours (or more) per week
  • Excellent computer skills with a proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Must be team oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
