Slipseat Upholsterer

Position Summary:

Perform a variety of operations to assemble and upholster fabric and leather to foam seat boards. Perform assigned duties using air stapling equipment, hand tools, templates, and measuring devices. Work on a variety of models to shape and form the upholstery for a specific appearance, fit and trim.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lay fabric and seat board into press, use hand controls to lower press to board.
• Staple fabric/leather to seat board keeping the fabric smooth using a pneumatic staple gun.
• Use scissors to cut excessive filler material from the board.
• Staple welt, cardboard and black bottom to the seat board.
• Staple Labels to bottom of the board.
• Stack completed boards n buggy.
• May perform other duties/ special or non-routine assignments as instructed.

Job Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Preffered one year of experience but not required.
• Ability to read and follow directions (verbal and written).
• Basic math skills: counting adding, subtracting
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds individually and up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Must have hand to eye coordination
• Must be organized and able to multi-task
• Must be able to complete job duties in timely manner
• Ability to pay close attention to details
• Excellent attendance record
• Flexible to changing work stations as business dictates
• Work and make decisions with minimum supervision
• Overtime as required, including Saturday
