About the role

Medical Insurance & other Benefits begin DAY ONE of Employment.

Start with three weeks of vacation a year!

This position has a rotating 12-hour shift (5 am - 5 pm). The ideal candidate will be comfortable with occasional overtime and extended hours during scheduled and unscheduled outage events, as well as holidays and weekends.

Reworld is currently seeking a Crane Operator. The ideal candidate would need to be able to run the large overhead refuse crane, maintain proper refuse flow to operating boilers, and control pit management.

The primary function of the Crane Operator is to assist in waste movement from the floor into the bunker during high-traffic hours. This is necessary to provide short turn times for our customers and to allow proper waste mixing before being fed to the boiler. The operator will maintain the crane control room and the area on and around the crane deck clean, neat, and orderly.

Position Responsibilities:

The operator will also be responsible for performing daily walk-downs of the crane, including but not limited to the following:

  • Blowing down the crane bridges, motors, limits, and all working surfaces
  • Maintaining lubrication on the crane and grapple.
  • Cleaning the charging decks and hoppers.
  • Maintaining the crane cab's cleanliness internally and externally.
  • Inspection of the crane power and lifting cables.
  • Performing all safety limit testing and documentation as well as safety equipment.
  • PMs on the crane cab HVAC system.
  • Anticipate typical problems, identify potential or recurring problems, and take appropriate action.
  • Minor maintenance includes changing grease fittings, assisting with grapple swaps, filling the oil reservoirs, changing filters, tightening hose fittings etc.

Position Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience operating industrial equipment
  • Must have the ability to work a rotating shift schedule
  • Vacation relief.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
  • Act as crane spotter when necessary for the maintenance group.
  • Assist in developing and executing the pit plan.
  • Calculating and reporting bunker inventory on Mondays.
  • General house keeping
  • Other items deemed appropriate by the Supervision and/or Operations Manager.

Physical Demands of the Role:

  • Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb
  • Ability to lift/carry 50lbs
  • Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces
  • Qualify to wear a full-face respirator
  • Consistently work in various weather conditions
  • Must be able to work in all locations within the plant, under extremes of hot and cold, and in areas of dust, noise and wet conditions.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator, climb a ladder to access equipment and work from heights using fall protection, lift heavy objects and other manual labor to including pushing, pulling, sweeping and shoveling.

Reworld is a smoke-free work site.

The expected base salary range for this position is 46,000 - 67,000. This is a good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this position. The final salary will consider various factors, including experience, ability, and location. Reworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and these ranges should not be considered career salary limits or caps.
