McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing and dynamic FP&A team supporting our Digital Enterprise Solutions organization. This role will manage, maintain, and continuously improve the processes and methods we use to forecast, plan, and analyze our operations and will support financial and operational metrics. The ideal candidate is a strong analytical thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States.

What you will be doing:

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Organize and support the annual budgeting process for specific areas of the business and assist with forecasting throughout the year. Ensure alignment with organizational goals and identify potential financial risks and opportunities.
  • CAPEX: Continuously improve the CAPEX model (in Apptio), by partnering with DES Operations on enhancements to build additional capabilities to enhance forecasting, modeling, and decision-making,
  • Strategic Recommendations: Analyze financial results and develop clear, actionable recommendations to improve business performance. Communicate insights effectively in both detailed and summarized formats.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports, dashboards, and presentations for stakeholders. Present complex financial data in a simplified, understandable way.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial guidance and support decision-making across the organization. Partner with teams to ensure accurate financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously improve financial processes and tools to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of planning and reporting.
  • Financial Controls: Develop, implement, document and maintain SOX compliant practices where applicable.

What you need to be considered:

  • Minimum of 5 years' professional experience.
  • Progressive experience in finance roles, with a focus on budget management, reporting, planning & analysis, and decision support.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., complex formulas, pivot tables, macros).
  • Experience with financial planning software (e.g., Adaptive Insights, Anaplan)
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) a plus.
  • Experience in software development tools is preferred (e.g., Apptio, JIRA, Confluence).
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).

The pay range for this position is between$72,430 - $123,970annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This position includes an annual incentive plan based on company performance. Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
