McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational solutions, is looking for a Senior Academic Designer. As a Senior Academic Designer, you will help plan and develop three-dimensional K-5 assessments and support for print and digital NGSS-aligned science products. This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 06/30/2026. What you will be doing: Writing, editing, and reviewing K-5 assessment questions, performance tasks, and rubrics aligned to NGSS standards. Analyzing and synthesizing academic research into product recommendations or recommended approaches. Producing accurate, error-free, high-quality K-5 assessments that meet curriculum standards and display appropriate reading level, grammar, and style. Managing assessment vendors and freelancers to ensure quality and time expectations are in keeping with project goals. Following approved workflows at all stages of development and meeting all intermediate and final schedule dates. Collaborating with a 6-12 assessment team to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and product goals are met. Demonstrating effective organizational and excellent time management skills; the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility to rapidly changing priorities and demands in an Agile work environment. What you need to be considered: A Master's degree, preferably with a major in education, science, or science education. 10+ years of experience in educational publishing and significant K-5 assessment experience with a strong background interpreting and implementing NGSS. Extensive knowledge of item types, cognitive complexity, scoring rubrics curriculum mapping, data analysis, and learning management systems. Experience working with digital curriculum development and digital educational products. Experience working with Jira to manage sprint backlogs, track progress, and report on key agile metrics is desired, but not required. Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize the product backlog based on customer feedback and business value. K-5 classroom teaching experience is a plus. The pay range for this position is between$54,600 - $70,000annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
