The R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate for the lab of Dr. Kevin Rhine. The research focus of this position will be how RNA biology changes as a function of neuronal aging, with special emphasis on risk factors for neurodegenerative diseases. Duties & Responsibilities |
- Design, conduct, and perform research experiments.
- Write manuscripts and progress reports.
- Prepare postdoctoral fellowship applications and contribute to other grant submissions.
- Serve as a day-to-day mentor for undergraduate and/or graduate students.
- Present research at internal lab meetings, local symposia, and national conferences.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of RNA-binding proteins, especially double-stranded RNA-binding proteins
- Strong foundational skills in computational analysis of RNA-seq and CLIP-seq data.
- Working knowledge of immunofluorescence and immunoprecipitation assays.

Minimum Qualifications |
- Ph.D in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Neurosciences, Biochemistry, or related field. Dissertation must have focused on RNA editing, including the use of long-read sequencing and CLIP-seq technologies.
