Overview

Are you passionate about helping customers keep their equipment running at peak performance? Milton CAT is looking for a Product Support Consultant to join our Power Systems team. In this role, you'll be the go-to expert for Caterpillar parts, preventative maintenance, and repair solutions, helping customers reduce operating costs and minimize downtime.

Note: We are recruiting for one open position and have advertised this position in multiple cities within our territory.

Pay Range: $60,000-$80,000 + quarterly bonus.

Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with customers and recommend parts and service solutions
  • Promote Milton CAT's product support programs (e.g., loadbank testing, cooling system service, engine/generator overhauls)
  • Promote, develop, and sell maintenance contracts
  • Provide parts and service quotes to customers
  • Create and maintain profiles on all major parts and service competitors
  • Report lost parts and service sales
  • Meet targets for sales, profits, units, and close ratios
  • Keep updated machine population in assigned territory
  • Coordinate service and parts delivery to ensure top-tier customer experience
  • Generate new business and meet sales goals
  • Provide training and support for equipment operation and maintenance
  • Maintain customer accounts using CRM software
  • Be available to support customers after hours when needed
  • Participate in business and trade events; maintain membership in trade organizations
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Associate degree or trade school certification, plus a high school diploma
  • 3-5 years of experience supporting Prime/Standby Generators in a parts or service role
  • 3-5 years of direct experience in the generator industry (e.g., sales/support company, facility management, wholesaler, or rental provider)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM software
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
  • A proactive, customer-first mindset with a sense of urgency
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to work after hours when needed to support customers
  • Ability to travel for training, including occasional overnight stays
  • Basic math skills
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

Preferred:

  • Sales or territory management experience
  • Knowledge of Caterpillar products
  • Experience with diesel/gas engines or generator-related business
