The Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality processes and ensuring compliance at industrial job sites. This role ensures all work aligns with regulatory requirements, company standards, and ASME codes. Key responsibilities include conducting inspections, managing related documentation, and offering guidance and support to team members. The QA/QC Supervisor maintains a deep understanding of relevant processes, codes, and job specifications, and is capable of performing required ASME design calculations. - Supervise and support quality control efforts for projects performed by Jamar or in collaboration with other APi Group companies.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and quality standards across all work activities.
- Perform ASME design calculations for piping systems, boilers, and pressure vessels.
- Inspect welding operations, verify procedures, confirm welder certifications, and ensure material traceability in compliance with AWS, ASME, and applicable codes.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and plant personnel to facilitate timely and efficient quality inspections during construction, maintenance, and shutdown activities.
- Oversee non-destructive examination (NDE) inspections, and reviews and approves related documentation.
- Conduct visual, dimensional, and NDE testing to verify alignment with project specifications.
- Ensure products and workmanship meet or exceed established standards and specifications.
- Apply strong interpersonal skills to communicate departmental requirements and objectives effectively across teams.
- Direct NDE inspectors and other QA/QC personnel as needed.
- Review and report on QA/QC and NDE inspection results, recommending or initiating changes and corrections as necessary.
- Audit the welder continuity log in coordination with the QA/QC Administrative Assistant.
- Maintain a work pace that supports both the quality and quantity of inspection and testing activities, in line with operational needs. Must be flexible with work scheduling.
- Work from job sites as needed to support quality control functions.
- Track and document work activities, and compile required information for packages in accordance with ASME program requirements.
- Maintain detailed inspection records, prepare quality reports, and document Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) as necessary.
- Participate in pre-job planning sessions, QA/QC meetings, and audits to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Represent the company professionally, both internally and externally, in alignment with our values and mission.
- Actively engage in programs, policies, and initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall success of the company. This includes supporting sister companies through sales, marketing, and lead sharing, contributing to brainstorming sessions, and demonstrating a willingness to share ideas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education & Experience:
- High school diploma, or equivalent.
- One (1) year or more professional experience with a solid understanding of ASME quality procedures, particularly as they relate to the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC).
- Experience with Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) practices, welding processes, and materials.
- Strong understanding of construction equipment, techniques, drawings, and specifications. Able to read and interpret technical documents and symbols, and apply this knowledge effectively.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program is preferred.
- QA/QC experience in industrial projects such as power plants, utilities, outages, and retrofit work is preferred.
- AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification is preferred.
- Prior experience working on industrial job sites is preferred.
Other Details:
- This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted U.S. state driver's license.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and SharePoint.
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% to 75% of the time to local and regional job sites.

Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected annual compensation range for this position is $68,000-$101,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
