Under general supervision, this position provides support essential for the functioning of curricular activities in the Office of Education and Curriculum on the Carbondale campus. This includes supporting The Year 1 Curriculum Director, Year 1 Curriculum Development Specialists, Y1 Doctoring Director, the Professional Development Lab (PDL), the Standardized Patient Program, and all department faculty members.

Examples of Duties

ADMINISTRATION - 60% 1. Coordinates arrangements for Patient-Physician Relationship (PPR) sessions including scheduling, faculty recruitment, room reservations, ordering meals, posting reading materials online, and preparing reports for faculty. 2. Coordinates set-up and clean-up of the Professional Development Lab in preparation for doctoring activities. 3. Responsible for ordering supplies (e.g., for office, for tutor room, for PDL, etc.), meals, equipment, and other purchases as instructed and forwards receipts and documentation to the account manager. Maintains inventory of all supplies. 4. Schedules rooms for a variety of activities. 5. Produce attendance rosters and track attendance in select required sessions.
GENERAL - 40% 1. Provides support functions for the Standardized Patient (SP) Program including completing hiring and change of status papers, scheduling SPs, sending materials to SPs, maintaining a database of SPs, managing PDL tap cards, submitting payroll, tracking annuitant payroll, making confirmation calls, and following-up with SPs about university required trainings. 2. Manage PDL recordings. 3. Provides general secretarial and clerical support for the department including copying and distributing materials, faxing, creating correspondence, maintaining a supply of parking permits, scheduling meetings, providing back-up for other functions in the office. 4. Prepares tutor rooms for new students, including removal of confidential materials. 5. Proctors exam reviews. 6. Proctors CCX portion of mid-unit and end-of-unit exams. Provides data entry of CCX checklists. 7. Prepare copies of exam materials and supply pens/pencils.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two (2) years (24 months) of work experience comparable to the third level of this series.
